For those of you who have been asking the question,How To Install Wordpress, I strongly recommend you check out this series…

This has to be one of the most difficult tasks for a Newbie to undertake.

Fortunately I came across a free video series that explained the steps,one at a time.

This, Wordpress How To,series will save you time and understanding.

My problem was should I go for a free site?,therefore limiting my chances of “Branding” my name and limiting my ability to post ads on the site.Or should I spend a reasonable amount to get the word out there?I chose the latter option because I wished to have more control over my Blog.

Also,this is a business.There are going to be costs.
Trying to do everything for free will only get you so far.

As with any business,or Investment you have to lose the fear of losing.Or be prepared to take a loss.Read any wealthy persons Autobiography and there will be an inevitable “loss” or “cost” at some stage in their development

I make no apologies for the basic nature of these posts.I am sure there are short cuts.These are for the Newbies,with little experience.I have felt your frustration!

Part 1 and part 2 where the exact steps I followed after I loaded an image to my sidebar,only to have the image collapse and disappear from view.Image is corrupt.

Ok.In part 2,we have copied the code of the image,we wish to select,to insert into our sidebar.

Go to ‘Appearance’,l/h sidebar.Select ‘widgets’.Opens in a new window.

Select ‘Text’ from ‘Available Widgets’,and l/h click on ‘add’.

Widget Text appears.Anywhere in the large box,l/h click to allow the cursor to flash.R/h click and select ‘paste’.L/h click to paste the previously copied code(part2) into the large box.

Move(scroll down)to the ’sidebar’ ‘position’ box.Selectb the destination of your image say sidebar1 position1 and l/h click on ’save widget’.

Opens in new page.At top of page it should state Widgets,’changes saved’.Just above this is,’Visit Site’.L/h click,and eureka.there you are finished!

As I stated earlier,a problem I experienced,was the image disappeared after I loaded it.I have noted on several blogs that this has occurred,and all that shows now is the empty image box!Keep checking your Blog for image dropout.Reload the original image,or copy from another source.

If you wish to add the image you have selected to a New Post.Go to ‘Posts’ and ‘Add New’(l/h sidebar top)
Opens in new window.Locate the upload/insert area above the edit box.Find the first square box(there is a selection of 4 including the music sign)and l/h click on square.

Opens in a new window.Add media Files from Your Library.Along the top of the box you can select ‘from computer,’ ‘from url’ or ‘Media Library’.L/h click on ‘Media Library’.

Opens in a new window.Shows all your images in your library.

L/h click on ’show’ alongside your selected image.

Opens in new window.Select the (position of the image on the post) Alignment and size and l/h click ‘insert into post’.

Opens in Add New Post.Just above the edit box you have upload/insert Add an Image Add Video Add Audio Add Media and to the right hand side Visual and HTML.L/h click on ‘HTML’.

This gives you the html code for the image.If you have written anything for the post it could be confusing separating the code from the text you have written.

At this point you can ‘preview’ and ‘publish’(top r/h sidebar) the post to your blog,OR you can ‘copy’(mouse r/h click,select ‘copy’) the code of the image for adding the image to your sidebar.

One of the stumbling blocks for Newbies with Blogs is How to Insert Images To Wordpress.I have been in the same situation myself,and have found it difficult to locate the information.My friend James Howard was kind enough to assist me,in my hour of need.

Well for those with a similar problem,here goes.To add an image to a post……part one
(you will need this if you need to add an image to a sidebar)

First we need the image to be added to our library,so go to ‘Media’ and ‘Add New’ at l/h sidebar.This opens up a new window ‘Upload new media’ box.L/h click on ‘browse’ to find the image you wish to upload.

(tip.If the image is not the correct size for your position on the page,see Resize Your Image Using Paint post(coming soon)

Opens up in a new window.You have your ‘folders’ section to the l/h sidebar.Select the folder where the image is located.It could be in the ‘Harry’ folder.If you click on the ‘Harry” folder it may open into more subfolders until you locate the image in the r/h large box.
Find the image required,l/h click on it,the image name will open in ‘filename’ below.L/h click ‘open’.
New window.’Upload New Media’.To the left of ‘browse’ will be the image location.Something like c.users/desktop.
This answers the question that I couldnt understand when asked ‘where is the image located?’Dont worry you are not alone……
L/h click ‘upload’

The image will be added to your Media Library.

Hover by the image required,up and down about 20mm until Edit|delete|view shows up below the image.

L/h click ‘view’.The image will show up on a ‘new post’ on your home page.If you are happy with the image,click ‘go back one page’(top lh corner)new window appears.L/h click on ‘apply’.This will add the image to your Media Library.
