In this post I will discuss the steps that will be required to Create a Wordpress Blog.

If you require free blog hosting,simply Google the phrase.Be aware that because it is free,you may be restricted in your advertising.Adsense would probably be denied.If your host disappears so does your blog.They could take all your hard work also.

However,the other alternative is to set your blog up with a suitable Domain name,Hosting and a linked Autoresponder.Your Domain name should be related to your Business.Any questions drop me a line.

Having set up my own blog,I can recommend certain companies.

Namecheap.com offer a range of free extras when you purchase a domain from them.They also have excellent support contact.This is vital when setting up your first site.

My next suggestion is for Hosting.Hostgator.com have a very good relationship with Namecheap.Again have excellent backup service and are competively priced.Always look for the phrases unlimited sites and unlimited bandwidth.It may look expensive for one site,but what about 2 or 10 or 20 sites.Use the Force Luke!

The final piece of the puzzle,before you Create a Wordpress Blog,is an Autoresponder.There are many.Some do not have double optin facilities.Some dont deliver through firewalls so easy.Some dont have easy video instructions to follow,that are widespread.There are many people out there that recommend Aweber and have helpful videos that explain the whole process.

I have links to these companies,that hopefully will help the Newbie find their way to setting up their own business in a day!I also followed the Wordpress Classroom Videos and the whole thing was up and running in no time.Step by step.Remain focused.You will succeed.

Hi Everyone,

If you’ve visited before you’ll be aware of the Newbies problems I have experienced lately.

Well I’m happy to report that I’ve solved another problem.

I tried countless times to find a fix for my Avatar,on my own site,not showing.I even contacted gravatar.com for a solution(who issue the photo’s to follow you from site to site).Still couldn’t fix it.

So what was the solution?

I was checking my email,related to this site,and noticed that it was still wrongly addressed to rayw@.. instead of ray@…I thought I had fixed it previously by altering my email in my “settings” “general”(l/h btm in wp-admin).However there is another setting to be altered in “Users” “Authors and Users”.I altered it to the correct ray@…and there I am.Pretty face smiling!Dont you just love it when something works as it should?

Just a small achievement gives such encouragement.

Well I hope this info has helped someone else in “Internet Land”.

Don’t you just love me sometimes?I know I do!Heee Hee.My young son says “I love you Dad”.What can you say in reply? “Son…..I love me too”.Only joking!

Well there you go.When things aint going right.They dont go right.Arghhh.

Had the problem with the Go Codes.Sorted.

Yesterday?My wonderful wife,bless her,left the lights on in the car.Huge storm.Lucky the car wasn’t washed away!Sorted.

Now this!Trying to add Yahoo ID tracking to the html,Ive lost the header.So far I”ve deleted the tracking code and returned everything as it was

Went to wordpress.org/forum they think its the permissions,chmod.Not sure which one to change?Public html is reading 755.I think thats right.The other ftp is reading 705?Anyone passing,can you help?Its 1.15am.

I think thats enough pain for today.

People talk about luck.That has nothing to do with it really.When I was a kid,I used to send away for free gifts.They never sent them!So luck?You have to make your own.I’m gonna do it!Honest Injun.I will do it!

Well I’m back again.With more problems to solve.

You see for those of you familiar with Go Codes,a method of tidying up links,they dont always work.
Well they do once.Then they stop!Smart stuff.

Originally when I installed Go Codes,no warning was flagged.

Fortunately I was checking for a new code for a new project and I was politely informed “Go Codes is not tested with your system of Wordpress”.I have Vista and Java and IE.They hate each other!I can go to a certain site and the computer just freezes.

So there is a reaction to Go Codes that causes the links to just break.Go to their website.They have a solution.But the solution?

Dont use it again if you are experiencing problems..Tinyurl or bitly are far easier and quicker than trying to figure out faults with Go Codes.

My advice?If you are a Newbie check your links are still active on your blog.Dont try and fix it get straight over to bitly and replace them.It will save you a heap of time.

Mistakes?I’ve probably already made them.

I try to solve them.Sometimes its quicker simply to replace the problem. Hope this helps..

Just came across some information that might help.How to unsubscribe list at Aweber.Did you know that your “unsubscribers” still count on your list?Niether did I.Paying for something that is of no benefit.

Heres the solution.

Log in to your Aweber account.Go to “current list’(l/h Top).Open list that you wish to deal with.Find “subscribers” at top of page.Search.Open it.”all subsribers” opens in the “view segment” below.
Click on it to open the menu below.Select “unsubscribed”.This will show a list of all of them.

Scroll down page to “unsubscribe list”.Press “erase”(r/h side of list)and thats how to unsubscribe list at Aweber.Do this for all of your campaigns unless you have a reason for keeping your list.

This last week has been a week of frustration and eye opening amazement!Should I give up?Should I have started?I’m not going to fake it till I make it.Its hard,Real hard.
My first attempt at this project took me…..I’m almost ashamed.96 hours!Arghhh.I then had to start all over again.But guess what?Heres the rewarding thing.Just about to give up for the 100th time this week,I kept on going.It took me 2 hours to get everything back online.

I had a few tweaks to make but I learnt so much,I figured out my mistakes and fixed them.
If it took 2 hours to get this basically online,it can only improve.Hopefully this will breathe new life in to some readers,that it is a Journey.It aint going to happen overnight,from a standing start.It takes time.
The strange thing is…I’m beginning to enjoy it.Each hurdle is being slowly overcome.
