Remember people buy from people not cartoons or a photo of next doors cat!

I see so many newcomers grab the True Twit Validation Service without understanding it.
Their potential follower receives the following “XXX uses TrueTwit validation service. Please follow this link to validate your profile.”Would you greet a potential friend this way?

You have handed over authority to a Robot to check if the person following is a Robot!
To me the greeting is soulless.I,and indeed many people I am in contact with,feel insulted by it.

They simply will not validate and immediately unfollow.Work it out.How many do you see out there?Few.Therefore,for the above reason so few join.What would happen if everyone joined?
Everyone gets greeted by a Robot!So much for “Social”

If you want to know How To Get Followers On Twitter also consider
what type of community do you want?A Robot greeting everyone?You have to join this soulless community.

Unfollow every 24 hours.36 hours max.The quality of your followers is important.Are you aware 30% of new accounts fail within 30 days.If your followers are not tweeting they are not listening.The response rate to your tweets will also suffer.If they have not followed in 36 hours they are not going to.

If you are under 2000 followers,my advice.Follow a maximum of 200-250 a day.You dont look desperate and you can handle the “clearout”and “refollow.”I use http://dossy.org/twitter/karma/ for this end.

Fill out your Bio and if you have a blog or website ensure you include that also.People are inquisitive and wish to learn more about you.Open a Facebook account,but be aware of their Privacy Rule.ie they dont have one.

Dont start selling.Dont use affiliate links immediately you account is set up.This is potentially the worst thing you can do.I have read of Twitter gurus advising dont sell until you have 5000 followers!

There again I have read of Internet Marketers who say you should start immediately.Personally I think the answer is somewhere in the middle.

Put some balance into your Tweets.Followers check your profile which lists your recent Tweets.If it is full of blue selling links you could be doing yourself permanent injury.

Add humour,quotes things that you find interesting.Let followers Know who You are.

Do you interact with your followers?I realise this can be difficult when starting.However RT information you find useful,humourous,inspiring or just unusual can assist you.
Mentioning a new follower can also add value to your relationship with your followers.Think of it this way.Wouldnt you like someone to RT or mention you when you become more successful?

I think the number one thing that newbies find the most daunting is,”I dont know what to say.”

Some ideas are Quotes,fun things you have done or are doing.Humour,but most importantly be yourself.Try to keep it positive.We all feel down at times.But how about “feeling awful at present,but I know its going to improve.”Those around you will feel slightly better that you are looking up,not down.

Once you are underway,replying to RT and DM will help you develop.

Important for Business minded people.Keep the swearing out.
I’m still surprised at the amount on Twitter and I’m a relatively open minded person.
But my kids come and read whats going on.I wouldnt swear in front of your kids.
Of course if you’re not Business minded its your choice of course and I understand other views.

Thought I should give a timely update on my Twitter exploits.

Well on my 1st account I managed to achieve 1000 followers in 14 days.The second thousand took just 7 days.
It currently stands at 2477 so a little under 72 hours to increase 477.

I have achieved this ALL manually.My click rate is increasing at a similar rate.Doubling by the thousand.I do not wish to mislead anyone.It is one thing to increase clicks,another to convert those clicks to customers.

As I have stated many times through my Blog and through my Newsletter,it is a Time thing.My Mentor Alex Jeffreys did not decieve he admitted,it is a slow process,but one that will improve gradually and then gather pace.The Momentum is now showing in the stats!

Just to “prove” the Momentum theory,I opened a second account.

It started @ midnight on 22 April.It is now 2.30 pm on the 26th.Followers stand at 834.First thousand in a week?You may notice that would be half the time it took account #1 !

As is stated by many successful Gurus and IM writers.Find something that works and duplicate it.

Developing this system,my way,is very time consuming.8 hours a day.6 days a week.You have to decide if you want success or not.No one said it was easy.However there will come a point where it becomes self propelling with less work.Can not wait.I will do the work to achieve my goals.

Just had to add more “following” to one account.It was running at the same count.

So you may ask.Why not automate the Twitter process?

There are many things on Twitter you may not be aware of if it is all automated.Namely that the quality of your followers,will,I feel suffer.There are many Bot accounts.Do you know how to spot them?

I am able to now spot them easily.They are hardly going to respond to your messages or become potential customers.

Put simply you give away control when you automate.The “personal touch” is also missing.
Yes I agree you have more time on your hands.It is a trade off.My fascination is with how things work.

I came across some response figures for a fully automated account versus an account that only allowed some automation.

Full automation had a response of 27 per 10000.Semi automated,with personal tweets and responses added 97 per 10000.I have had figures of 20 responses but with less than 2000!The quality of the list certainly is a factor.I read also of an account that was purged of 20000 from a figure of 100000 as they were unresponsive or inactive.

So I will be adding more information through my newsletter via the optin at the top right of the page.I trust this has opened your eyes to some factors of Twitter.Thanks for your time.Comments or questions would be appreciated.

The answer to the first question I will answer now.Yes I Will have to automate very soon.However I will know what to look out for also and adjust the list of followers as I go forward.

This is a Personal View of a person I admired for changing Pop culture and Design culture in Britain in the 1970s.Malcolm Mclaren.

I first visited his store “Sex” in London during a wander around before an FA Cup Final game at Wembly Stadium. May 1975 from memory.

The “Sex Pistols” had not made it at that time,but his Punk Culture was already expanding.

Wierd kids in mainly black leather gear with huge pins thru everything they could get their hands on.Clothes with chains,body bits with pins.It was a totally radical scene.

Ridiculed by many passing the shop.However you could not get into the shop!It was packed,and people,Punks were pushing to get inside!The pavement was packed.From Memory,hundreds outside and it was about 9.30am Saturday.

I had no idea I had just Witnessed the birth of a Culture Revolution that would eventually engulf the World.

Short fast forward.

I was the Assistant Manager of a Night club just outside Liverpool in England.I had left and was waiting to start a new job in a brand new bar on the coast.

As a fill in I was working as a night worker at a Gas Station just 2 minutes from the Night club.

Glad I was.Introducing the “Sex Pistols”.

Time, about 3am.A white battered van parked up by the(if I remember right)by the Diesel bowser.Out jumped a load of kids from the front and back of the van,5 or 6 not to sure.

They started running around the forecourt,pulling all the oil displays over,I had to run outside and stop one of them running off the forecourt with one display!Swearing,fighting kicking the oil cans around.

Then I turned around and they were trying to pull the cigarette machine from the wall!Then entered the man.Malcolm Mclaren.All calm.telling them to behave themselves and calm down.Paid for the fuel AND the cigarettes.He told them to get back in the van and away they went.10 minutes of mayhem and bedlam,over.

30 minutes later,my friend and ex colleague arrived from the Nightclub to fill his car.He was the DJ.

I mentioned what had just “occurred”(that ones for you “Alex Jeffreys”)about all these crazy kids and their weird dress.I had no idea where they had come from.

“Oh” he said,”we’ve just had that crowd on at the Mr Digbys Club.Crazy bunch,spitting at the audience,fighting,we had to throw them out in the end.They call them the “Sex Pistols”.

The following Monday night it was announced on the “6 o’clock News” that a group called the “Sex Pistols” had been thrown off the “Eamonn Andrews Show” for swearing and being out of control on the Sunday night.

Year 1977 from memory.My memory of Malcolm Mclaren was he was a real nice guy!Sadly missed.

The exact times,dates etc have been forgotten,to protect the innocent.Plus I’m getting older.

RSS or real simple syndication,is a method of subscribing to a line of information
from another website or blog.

This system goes a lot further than that.
it combines information And RSS Marketing.

Traffic Getting? What do I mean by that?

Kind of a weird term I know, so I figured I best explain myself…

Well, in the words of George himself: “if you watch the video and implement the technique it will basically will get you a boatload of traffic to your website”.

Simple.

Watch the video, do it and get some extra free targeted traffic to your site, no matter what niche it’s in.

And it works too. George (the techniques “creator”) is using to drive almost 20,000 free visitors to his sites every month. Twenty THOUSAND! That’s nothing to sniff at.

And I’ll say this: This is one technique I’ll be using personally on this and all of my sites. It really is one of the coolest techniques for getting some extra traffic I’ve seen in a long time.Ive started already.

Just thought I would give an update on my Twitter status.

If you refer to my previous post I had 50 followers on the Ist April.Its grown a little since.It currently stands at 781 which I feel is quite reasonable considering it is ALL manual.

Why manual with all the automated products available?

Two reasons.

1.Just about all the so called “free” methods are paid.There are a few exeptions of value.Twitter has tightened the “following” terms recently.Word of warning here.Get started now,before it is tightened even further!

2.If you spend a bit of time on Twitter you will discover certain aspects of it that you wont know about if its automatic.

Has anyone informed you of the “huge fluctuations” in followers,daily?No.Me neither.

The fluctuations I have noted(I have recorded them all)range approximately at 15% daily.This is not unique to newcomers.Even those with 35000 followers, have dropped dramatically overnight to 29000.Thats close to 20%.

Why does this occur?Well I have my own theory on the subject.
I can only give it in local time.There is a gradual increase from midnight.Busiest period for Europe and Usa.
It continues until 3pm.Then Bang! Hold on to your hats folks,we’re going down,and down and down.Until 11pm local.Then it repeats.

If you are not prepared it can be quite devastating to a newbie.Very disheartening.

Cause?

Well again a personal view.The Robots.The paid automated variety.They must recalibrate all the accounts during this period.It is like clockwork.Same thing everyday,same time.

What can you do?Nothing manually.I tried.Does’nt matter if you Tweet more.Tweet less.No change.

Don’t lose your nerve.Don’t panic or give up.If you were heading upwards with your followers,you should recover to a higher number of followers.Sounds like the Stock Market.Keep doing what you were doing.

There is a side effect to automation.You may lose some close friends if you do not save them to a safe list.I lost the same followers,approx 50 to 70 everyday.Then they would miraculously reappear the next day.So I stopped following them.Now some of them stay.

So I feel you have to monitor your Business,and maintain it.Just like any other type of Business.Or you could ultimately suffer.

Well I hope this has helped give you an insight into what to expect with Twitter.Be prepared and overcome your difficulties one by one.Move forward at all times.Success is around the corner.

Hope you all had a great Easter.

What have I been upto?Well one of the more difficult aspects for my generation to grasp,is Social Media.

I guess having been brought up to actually “Talk” to people face to face,does leave its mark.
However I actually enjoy interacting with people on the Internet.Hopefully that is evident in my posts ,comments etc.

So I have spent my time over the Holidays(besides enjoying my Family time)with Twitter,getting started.

I have had an account for 11 months and it has been neglected.I did not wish to start something I was unable to continue with.

I felt I had to have a certain platform,a blog, in place to utilize Twitter.That way I can help more people achieve their goals.

Its the same old Time and Money thing.Setting up a blog,writing and leaving something behind that people can refer to in the future does not happen overnight.Despite what the Gurus may tell you!

So on the 1st April I thought it was time to turn my attention to Twitter.I had 50 followers.It has now grown.I am trying to keep it Real and being myself.There are many automated systems to grow your list,but I feel strongly that the Human touch is what is sort after.Yesterday I could not post.

“Twitter at Capacity. Twitter at Capacity!” This is the dreaded sign that pops up when too many tweets are being delivered.Normally by Robots that have been preloaded to deliver Tweets at certain times.

I am an advocate of Automation.However there has to be limits dont you think.Ultimately you will have Robot Tweeting Robot.Who will gain?

The benefits of Twitter to you Business cannot be ignored.Grow your List!

I have scoured the Internet for Information on Twitter.Good,well informed information.I have found it.Free tools that can assist you .I believe it will help you in the most important part of Twitter.Getting Started.

I feel your pain.Starting from zero with anything can be a challenging,sometimes demoralising thing.
With consistent action I believe you will avoid this and develop a sizable following.

Today I’ll be discussing Products and Information that Work.

But what have I been up to?

Skype?Ive just got of the phone,video line or whatever it is,talking to my friend Mike in Toronto.

What an amazing tool.

For someone who replies to the question “Ebay” with the “?” as an answer,I think I have just stepped into the Star Trek Universe.You see 20 months ago I didn’t have a mobile phone.Now I have websites(profitable ones).A growing following of readers,hopefully action takers and the ability to communicate.
So what did we discuss?

Well Mike is on a similar Journey to myself.He has taken a leap into the Unknown.To become a Success Online.

What came out of our Discussion?

Hopefully this will help those of you entering the Internet Marketing arena,or those with limited experience.
I think Mike would agree.The Business is Huge!There are so many aspects to this Business that it is impossible to do everything,Now.

You come to the conclusion that you will take a certain road,with a Plan,and succeed.

It may be PLR products,Twitter or Giveaway Events.Yes I agree you should be doing All of them,but in the short term concentrate on One particular avenue.Do it well.Do it consistently.Enjoy it!

Mike is of a similar age to myself and finds it difficult to develop Social Media.I am exactly the same.I think it comes from finding difficulty with the new techanogical stuff.But we both will succeed.

As I have said in previous blogs it is building the stepping stones to your future success.If you expect massive results immediately you will sadly be disappointed and give up.

Put in place your free Twitter,Facebook etc,accounts.Sign up for the various Quality affiliate programs.Not for their free giveaways but to eventually promote them in the future.

Use Time productively.30 minutes to an hour max,per task.Then move on.Otherwise you will achieve very little.

I firmly believe that in 3-4 months you will subconsciously be in a position to benefit from the learning you have put into action.

Ok.The purpose to this blog.

You have actions that you have taken that work.A product you have purchased that you have benefited from.In brief,Products and Information that Work.
